State Requirements
We know that selecting the right courses can feel overwhelming, especially if you're unsure of your child's grade level or past school experience. Our programs are designed with flexibility and mastery in mind; students can work at their own pace, revisit concepts, or move ahead as they’re ready!

FREE WebinarsThis schedule suggests that your child watch the video and complete their guided notes first.
"Independent Writing" is a section of the PDF that is suggested before beginning online practice.
After that PDF section, the schedule recommends that your child complete levels 1 and 2 of the online practice.
The schedule recommends stopping there for the day! If you want to continue, the next thing that the schedule recommends is a section of the PDF called "Language Lab" and a section called "Connect and Reflect" before the child continues with levels 3 and 4 of their online practice!

What if the PDF doesn't have a daily schedule?

There are two locations where you can view and print PDFs from your parent account: The first is in the daily schedule. You can view your child's daily schedule from your parent account under the curriculum tab. You'll click the "calendar view" to see it listed there. If there's a PDF for a lesson on a given day, it will be here.
The second place is within the Curriculum tab at the lesson level, where the video, practice game, and assessment are listed. You will click on the title of the course you'd like to print for. On the next page, you can either use the drop-down arrows to view PDFs within each lesson or click on the "PDFs and Answer Keys" box to open a list of all of the PDFs included in that unit for your convenience.

No, since we’re a curriculum and not a school, the requirements are up to you! The PDFs do add a lot of material to our curriculum, though! Some PDFs can also be completed orally or have answers written in a separate notebook. We intentionally add a variety of activities to the PDFs to give you flexibility.
×
Of course! Save them and open them in another window, using them as a reference tool to go back and forth between the practice or assessment and PDF. Download them and open them in a separate PDF editor, where you can digitally write directly on the PDF, save it for review, and keep it for your own records. Check out an example of how to do this here! You can also purchase a workbook that conveniently compiles all the PDFs for a course for you!

If there is no daily schedule, we suggest looking in the PDF to see if there are guided notes. If there are, have your child complete them while they watch the video. After that, feel free to decide how you split up the PDF and the online practice. You may choose to do some online practice and then some of the PDF, or you may choose to do all of the online practice for that lesson before doing the PDF. If the lesson has an assessment, we suggest completing whatever parts of the PDF you'd like to complete before moving on to that assessment.
Most of our PDFs have a sample schedule on them that shows one way that the lesson can get broken up.
Most of our lessons are broken up over 2 to 5 days.
Enable gradebook access for a student. The PDF usually appears as the first task within the lesson on a student's Learning Path. We suggest printing it out at this point, opening it up in another window, or finding the matching page in your workbook.
Video and Guided Notes: Almost all of our lessons start with a video, so you'll usually see that on "Day 1." Many of our PDFs include "guided notes" that students can complete while they watch the video.
Activities and Online Practice: After your child has watched the video and done guided notes (if the lesson has them), their Learning Path will start giving them practice levels. Stop and check their PDF to see if it suggests doing any of the activities before the student starts their practice levels. If the PDF suggests an activity before the online practice, have your child pause and complete the activity! Then, have your child complete some of their online practice! Some practice questions will direct your child to a specific part of the PDF if there are parts of the PDF that are meant to be paired with the practice questions.
If the online practice doesn't mention the PDF, feel free to incorporate the activities in the PDF at any point during the lesson! We suggest having your child do the online practice until they receive a medal. Then, have them move over to the PDF!
When you first sign up, our program asks you to select your child’s grade level. According to that grade level, our program will auto-assign a series of courses. You can stick with those, or change them all completely! It’s up to you! You can mix and match different levels across subjects. For example: Your child might be ready for Math Level G but prefer Reading Comprehension Level E. It’s normal and encouraged to personalize learning. As we develop and revise courses, we aim to include a placement test with each course. If a course has a placement test available, it will be included with the PDFs in the first lesson of that course.
Our course scheduling guides give suggested grade levels for each course we offer, but remember, our program is designed for flexible learning, so you can customize as you see fit!
You can also see our recommended grade levels in the Curriculum tab of your parent portal by clicking “Add or Remove Courses” next to any given subject.

We understand accreditation is important, and we’re proud to share that we are accredited as a supplementary education program by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
×
Our accredited curriculum aligns with most state homeschooling requirements. While we’re not a school, many families use our program successfully across the U.S. Since each state has its own rules—especially around subjects like state-specific history—we recommend checking with your local education authority to be sure.
×
While we are an accredited curriculum, we are not a school, so we do not issue certificates of completion or diplomas. However, many families choose to create their own, and there are a wide variety of customizable templates available online that you can personalize to celebrate your student’s achievements.
×
You can view all of your child’s grades and attendance tracking right in your parent portal, and these can be easily downloaded into reports. Since each state has its own requirements, many families use this information to create a customized report card that fits their local guidelines.
×
Your child can return to public school after homeschooling, and many families make this transition successfully. For details on the transition, check your local state homeschooling laws.
×
Many students who use our curriculum go on to attend college. However, since we are a curriculum provider and not a school, parents are responsible for maintaining state-compliant transcripts and ensuring their children meet the admission requirements for their chosen colleges.
×
Since we’re a curriculum and not a school, we do not coordinate any standardized or state testing. Parents are responsible for locating and coordinating any state-mandated standardized tests for their child.
